User-Generated Content & Content Ownership

Last updated: July 9, 2026

This page explains how Songsi handles content you upload — photos, videos, audio, text posts, comments, dedications, artist profile material, Artist Airplay tracks, and other user-generated content (collectively, "User Content"). It is part of, and should be read alongside, the Terms of Use, the Privacy Policy, the Community Guidelines, and the Copyright / DMCA Policy.

1. You Own Your Content

You retain all ownership rights in the original photos, videos, audio recordings, text, artwork, biographies, dedications, and other content you upload to Songsi. Songsi does not claim ownership of User Content and does not acquire any assignment, transfer, or work-for-hire interest in it.

2. Your Representations When You Upload

By uploading User Content to Songsi, you represent and warrant that:

  • You either own the content or have all necessary rights, permissions, licenses, and releases to upload and share it.
  • The content does not infringe any third party's copyright, trademark, publicity, privacy, or other rights.
  • You have obtained consent from any identifiable person featured in the content where required by applicable law.
  • The content does not violate the Community Guidelines or applicable law.

3. Limited Operating License to Songsi

You grant Songsi a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable-only-to-Songsi's-service-providers license to host, store, cache, back up, index, reproduce, reformat, resize, technically process, transmit, and display your User Content solely as reasonably necessary to operate, provide, secure, and improve the Songsi platform and to display the content to the audiences you have chosen inside Songsi (for example, your profile, your Memories, your Songsi Live session, or a fan receiving your dedication).

This license exists so that Songsi can technically deliver the Services. It ends with respect to any given piece of content when you delete it or your account, except to the extent Songsi needs to retain the content for legal, accounting, dispute-resolution, security, or platform-integrity reasons, or in backups that will expire in the ordinary course.

4. No Automatic Rights to Use Your Content in External Marketing or Paid Ads

The operating license above does not give Songsi the right to use your User Content in paid advertising, third-party marketing channels, off-platform promotional campaigns, out-of-home media, press features, or similar external marketing use.

Before Songsi uses any specific piece of your User Content for that kind of external promotional purpose, Songsi must request and receive your separate affirmative consent for that specific piece of content. There is no blanket profile-level consent. Each piece is opt-in and off by default.

Consent records capture:

  • The specific content (type and identifier).
  • Your user account.
  • The scope you approved (paid ads, external marketing, or both).
  • The timestamp of your consent.
  • The current status (granted or revoked).

You can review and revoke any promotional consent at any time from Settings → Promotional Consents. Revocation applies going forward and does not require Songsi to recall materials already printed, placed, or contractually committed before revocation, but Songsi will stop new external use of the content promptly after revocation.

In-platform display of content you have posted (for example, your own profile, your own Memories, or a dedication delivered to the fan you sent it to) is governed by the Terms of Use and the operating license above and is not "external marketing."

5. Reporting Content

If User Content violates the Community Guidelines, the Terms of Use, or applicable law, you can report it. Report actions are available on user-facing surfaces (profiles, Memories, dedications, and messages). Reports include the target content or user, the reason, and optional detail. Songsi reviews reports and may leave the content in place, restrict its visibility, or remove it.

6. Blocking Other Users

You can block another Songsi user from Settings → Blocked Users. Blocking is intended to reduce unwanted interaction. Blocking does not delete prior transactions, financial records, or content required for platform integrity or legal purposes.

7. Moderation Review and Content Removal

Songsi may review reported or otherwise flagged User Content and, in Songsi's reasonable discretion, remove it, restrict its visibility, suspend a user's ability to post, or take other appropriate action. Moderation decisions and removals are logged internally for audit and appeal purposes.

If content of yours is removed, Songsi will make a reasonable effort to notify you and the reason, subject to safety, legal, and anti-abuse constraints. You may contact Songsi to request review of a removal.

8. Copyright Complaints

To report content that you believe infringes your copyright, use the Copyright Complaint Form. Songsi responds to properly submitted notices in accordance with the Copyright / DMCA Policy and may terminate the accounts of repeat infringers.

9. Deletion and Retention

You can delete individual pieces of your User Content and can request deletion of your account. Some information may be retained where required for legal, accounting, dispute-resolution, security, or platform-integrity reasons, or in backups that will expire in the ordinary course.

10. Changes

Songsi may update this UGC & Content Ownership framework from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the Services or by other reasonable means.
